What Is a Check to Cash? A check payable to cash has the word 'Cash' on the line where you normally write your payee’s name. Because the check is not payable to a particular person or organization, anybody who has possession of the check can cash or deposit the check. 1 Most checks are made payable to somebody. In some cases, you can simply visit the bank that issued the cheque (if one is local to you) and cash the cheque there instead of visiting a cheque-cashing business. In this case, you likely won't have to pay a fee - just provide your valid government-issued identification, and sign the back.
Anti-money laundering regulations require that we are able to prove your identity. To ensure a speedy transaction it would help if you brought the following:
Write the Full Name of the payee as per the payee's bank records on the Pay line.; Cross out the Bearer word on the cheque and double cross on the top left corner of the cheque if it has to be paid only to the said payee.; Sign your cheque according to your signature as per bank's records. If any amendments are required, cancel with a horizontal line and sign your full signature beside it.
- Photo ID (current passport or drivers licence)
- Utility Bill (dated within the past 3 months)
- Any documentation that came with the cheque (if applicable)

If you are not able to produce sufficient ID, we will still do our best to say “yes!” and cash your cheque, however the process may take slightly longer, and you may be asked additional personal questions.

We also endeavour to pay out all cheques in full (after fees) on the spot, however part payments on the day may occur depending on cash holdings and/or the need to place cheques on bank clearance prior to payout. Full payout will be made as soon as possible thereafter. We reserve the right to refuse any cheque.
